Aaghaz film screening March 15, Saturday

We have been so busy in the KICK OUT DOW SAVE PUNE movement that we have had no time to organise AAGHAZ properly. The schedule should have come out two weeks ago, but we have been having rallies, dharnas practically daily, so it has all gone haywire. I just sat down to finally decide the next three films, and i am now mailing the schedule.

On 20 March, 2003, five years ago, violating the UN charter and all international laws, and ignoring the worldwide protests of crores of people all across the world, the US imperialists invaded and occupied Iraq. People seem to have forgotten that Iraq is under colonial rule and Iraqis are fighting a heroic battle against the world's biggest military power. We screen this film, which documents the protests in San Francisco on the day the US began its invasion. The protests shutdown the city's financial district. Leading to more than 1,000 arrests, it was one of the global anti-war movement's most significant campaigns, and this collective documentary captures the energy and creativity of the protest. The documentary also contains an analysis of corporate broadcast policy, militarisation and the clampdown on civil liberties. A powerful film, a must see!

On this Sunday, We are organising a PEOPLE'S COURT at which we will be presenting a chargesheet against Dow.

Advocate Sunil Dighe from Mumbai, a well-known lawyer practicing in the Mumbai High Court, will be representing us (KICK OUT DOW SAVE PUNE MOVEMENT) and will be presenting a Chargesheet against Dow Chemical Company and against the Govt of Maharashtra before the bench.
